The Blurrg

Casssian Andor is in an Imperial prision, a scene from Season 1 of Andor

Almost there.

With the upcoming release of Andor, Season 2 on April 22, we now have a very good fix on when we will be watching the Original Trilogy: Early Summer 2025. This is assuming that there is no unforeseen event which could delay the show. But, for the first time, now that The Bad Batch is finished (weeps) and all the new announced shows and movies are post the OT in The Star Wars Timeline, we have a clear plan for the rest of the year (Thank the Force).

A quick review: At this time, Andi, who had never seen a Star War prior to watching for the podcast, has seen a bit more than 5 days of Star Wars visual media. We've also read a few books and comics. Since we are watching in chronological order, Andi doesn't know what happens in the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Here's the order of and titles for what we've consumed:

·       Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

·       Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

·       The Clone Wars (we include the film under this title) through Season 7 ep 8

·       Book: Dark Disciple

·       Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

·       The Clone Wars episodes 7: 9-12

·       The Bad Batch Season 1

·       Solo: A Star Wars Story

·       Obi-Wan Kenobi

·       Rebels Season 1

·       Andor Season 1

·       Bad Batch Season 2

·       Tales of the Jedi, all eps

·       Rebels Season 2 eps 1 – 6

·       High Republic Adventures!

·       Bad Batch Season 3

·       Tales of the Empire, eps 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 (3 is too far in the timeline for Andi, we will revisit the Morgan Elsbeth eps during Mando)

·       Rebels Season 2

·       Read: Thrawn (2017)

·       Rebels Seasons 3 & 4 <---- We are here! As of 12-23-2024 we are in the last half of Rebels, Season 4.

Here's what's next!

·       The Acolyte (We are dropping this in as we wait for Andor S2)

·       Andor season 2

·       Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

·       Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

·       Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

·       Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

·       The Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2

·       The Book of Boba Fett

·       The Mandalorian Season 3

·       Ahsoka S1

·       Skelton Crew

·       Ahsoka S2 (this is a guess)

·       The Mandalorian and Grogu ( announced for MAY 2026! Will we get to see this in the theatre together?)

·       Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

·       Resistance

·       Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

·       Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

We are approaching 100 episodes of the show - thanks for joining us for this weird experiment.

Updated: Sep 19, 2022

Now that the Mouse has been kind enough to grant us a date for Season 2 of The Bad Batch we wanted to give an update on our watch order. As of September 2022 anyway. Please, please Mickey keep it together!

What's coming up for Fall 2022 into Winter/Spring 2023

  • Rebels Season 1

  • Andor

  • Tales of the Jedi

  • Bad Batch Season 2

By the time we finish up Bad Batch S2, it will be Spring 2023. Then the First Steps Crew will take a little break. Note: We will start Andor after we finish Rebels Season 1, no going back and forth. Andor will be in October 2022 for us. Late Summer/Fallish 2023 will focus on finishing up Rebels.

The question we get the most is WHEN DO YOU GET TO STAR WARS: A New Hope? The answer is probably early 2024. We're here for the long haul and we hope you are, too! You want us to go faster? You'll have to pay us a fancy salary and offer benefits.

Here's the updated full chronology - to the best of our knowledge - which is no longer our watch order, exactly, since we are backing up to watch Tales of the Jedi and Bad Batch Season 2.

  • The Acolyte

  • Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones

  • The Clone Wars (we include the film under this title)

  • Tales of the Jedi

  • Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

  • The Clone Wars episodes 7: 9-12

  • The Bad Batch Season 1 & presumably Season 2

  • Solo: A Star Wars Story

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi

  • Rebels Season 1

  • Andor Season 1

  • Rebels Seasons 2, 3, and 4

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope

  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

  • The Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2

  • The Book of Boba Fett

  • The Mandalorian Season 3

  • Ahsoka

  • (presumably) Skelton Crew

  • Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

  • Resistance

  • Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

  • Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

Swag!

About Dark Disciple: Based on unproduced episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this new novel features Asajj Ventress, former Sith apprentice turned bounty hunter and one of the great antiheroes in Star Wars history.

The only way to bring down the Sith's most dangerous warrior may be to join forces with the dark side.

In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.

But the ever-elusive Dooku is dangerous prey for even the most skilled hunter. So the Council makes the bold decision to bring both sides of the Force's power to bear - pairing brash Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos with infamous one-time Sith acolyte Asajj Ventress. Though Jedi distrust for the cunning killer who once served at Dooku's side still runs deep, Ventress' hatred for her former master runs deeper. She's more than willing to lend her copious talents as a bounty hunter - and assassin - to Vos' quest.

Together, Ventress and Vos are the best hope for eliminating Dooku - as long as the emerging feelings between them don't compromise their mission. But Ventress is determined to have her retribution and at last let go of her dark Sith past. Balancing the complicated emotions she feels for Vos with the fury of her warrior's spirit, she resolves to claim victory on all fronts - a vow that will be mercilessly tested by her deadly enemy... and her own doubt.
